Description This is Math For Middle Elementary (ME) students, targeting 3rd and 4th grade level skills. I will be bringing up math concepts and go as far as the group can go -- gathering data and solving problems with measurement (time, temperature, length, weight, angles, etc.), fractions, decimals, graphs, extend patterns, calculating perimeters and areas, addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, symmetry, probability, estimating, some algebra and geometry. I'll introduce advanced topics as the group can handle. We'll solve word problems and work with manipulatives, draw pictures and graphs, or measure to understand concepts. I plan to pick two or three topics each day, which may roll over into the next week depending on interest and mastery.

There will be homework each week, which will probably be 10 word problems to solve. It should take 10-20 minutes for each assignment. I will have homework with different levels of difficulty available (up to 5th grade).

They'll be counting, measuring, calculating and solving problems every week, in a meaningful way.
