| Description | Examine what culture is and how it shapes the way we understand ourselves as humans. Learn about ancient myths and legends across many continents as we survey Japanese, Chinese, African, Indian, Mayan, Celtic, Nordic , and Australian and North American aboriginal cultures. Each week we will discuss and compare stories people tell about creation, the seasons, life after death, the differences (or not) between humans and animals, the differences (or not) between (g)God(s) and humans. We'll take what we've read to hands on activities and crafts, including some writing or drawing-- to culminate in a group play or presentation that showcases and integrate our favorite stories. |
