| Description | Paddle To The Sea is the story of the journey of a Native American boy's carving of a man in a canoe. The carving travels from the boy's home in Canada, through the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence Seaway, and finally to the Atlantic Ocean. This study group will cover aspects of geography, mapping, literature, reading, writing, natural history, Native American studies, history, language arts, science and more. There will be weekly reading and homework assignments based on the reading. Participants should expect to spend at least 1-2 hours per week outside of study group time working on these assignments. Assignments will be open ended enough to allow participants to do more or less work according to their age and ability and their parent's wishes. |
