| Description | This is for true beginning writers. Typical 1st and 2nd grade stuff. Ok for slightly older kids who are having difficulty getting started with writing. We will create short non-fiction stories from children's own experiences, illustrate them and share with group. Stories might be as short as 10 sentences, one to three per page w/ an illustration. Spelling is not important at all. I will NOT be transcribing or helping with spelling--kids must write on their own. I ran this study Fall 08 and we had a grand time creating stories and making books. On some weeks there may be 15-30 minutes of homework to finish up a story or illustrations. |
