Zentangle® Basics for Tweens+ with Emily

Discover your inner artist with the meditative Zentangle® Method of creating artwork through structured patterns. Like yoga or meditation, Zentangle practice encourages relaxed focus, increased mindfulness, and stress reduction. Zentangle is easy to learn and is wonderful for all artistic levels from beginners to Matisse!  The Zentangle® Method was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas and is copyrighted. These classes are for tweens and teens and will be delivered via the Zoom platform. A link to the class will be emailed to participants ahead of time.

Materials needed:

  • White Zentangle tiles, white cardstock, unruled index cards, or blank sketchbook. Cut paper into a 3.5” square, or mark off a 3.5” square in pencil if working in a journal/sketchbook.
  • Pencil
  • Black Micron 01 pen or other fine-tipped black pen
  • Tortillon or cotton swab

Emily Classon has been creating art with the Zentangle Method since 2010 and became a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) in 2012. She has shared her passion for this art form with classes of all ages for nine years. Emily is also a homeschooling mom and member of Voyagers Homeschool Co-Op.
